Step Out

Red Striders

Individuals living with diabetes are why we walk, why we advocate and why we won’t stop until we find a cure. Red Striders are our event champions, they receive support and recognition on the day of the event and beyond.

  • There are more than 37.3 million people living with diabetes and another 96 million with prediabetes which is why it is important that we walk to stay healthy and support those living with the disease.
  • Our Red Strider program is for anyone living with diabetes (type 1, type 2, gestational), It is designed to provide support and encouragement. Everyone at the Step Out Walk to Stop Diabetes® will celebrate you.

  • Hundreds of people share a similar story, and hundreds more will support you when you register as a Red Strider and join our community.
  • Red Striders are who we walk and run for! On event day, Red Striders are recognized, cheered, encouraged, and much more. These participants will also receive a Red Strider T-shirt when the fundraising level of $100 ($30 youth 17&U) is met. Here is an example of a prior year's shirt.
