2023 Step Out: Pittsburgh / Learn More /

Step Out®: Pittsburgh is our premier walk where everyone in the community comes together to support people living with diabetes – you won’t want to miss it! Step Out is a day full of fun and excitement as we recognize our Red Striders and fundraise in support of the mission of the American Diabetes Association®.


**Other special events will be occurring simultaneously as the Step Out Walk. Please be mindful of event location.**

We walk rain or shine, so please dress accordingly. Your health and safety are our priority. In the event of severe weather or lightning, the event may be postponed or canceled. You will be notified via email or text and this page will be updated.

EVENT DETAILS

Event registration will open Saturday, October 21st at 8:30am in the North Shore Riverfront Park (green space along Riverfront Trail across from Stage AE). 393 N Shore Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15212. Special Parking rate of $3 in Gold Lot 1 for ADA participants and volunteers. 


Parking

Alco Parking will provide spots at a discounted rate of $3 in Gold Lot 1 on the North Shore! When you arrive, let the attendant know you are walking with the ADA’s Step Out Walk event. From there, follow the ADA signs to the North Shore Riverfront Park.

 

Registration

Walker registration opens at 8:30am. Haven’t signed up yet? No problem! Our registration volunteers are happy to get you and your team signed up for the event.  This is also a great time to make a donation!

 

Living Red Tent

Pick up your Red Strider Shirt at the Living Red Tent and share your Why!  You're the reason we walk!  Enjoy a nice warm beverage by visiting the hot cocoa and tea bar!

 

Champions

$1,000+ fundraisers will be celebrated in the Champion Tent! Drop in to enjoy an exclusive hot breakfast of eggs, bacon, and home fries as a Champion Fundraiser!

 

Kids Zone

Stop by to visit our face painting station, make a friendship bracelet with your "dia-bestie," and paint your own pumpkin!  While you're there, take a turn showing off your batting skills at the Homerun Derby!

 

Wellness Village

Take advantage of all the great resources our partners have to offe in the Wellness Village!  Meet friends from GNC, UFC Gym, Abbott Diabetes, Dexcom, ProventionBio, Novo Nordisk, Xeris Pharmaceuticals, and Forbes Fund.  Get your flu shot from Giant Eagle Pharmacy and take control of your health with screenings from Highmark Wholecare, AHN, and UPMC.

Event Activites

this day is yours for the making! Grab a cup of coffee from the Coffee Tree Roasters Truck, 10% of proceeds will benefit the ADA.  Have a snack in the ADA Cafe food tent.  Enjoy live music from the Fill Ins!  And get pumped up with the Taylor Allderdice Band!  There's something for everyone at this year's event!

The verification code for Visa, Master Card, and Discover is a 3-digit number printed on the back of your card. It appears after the account number or last 4-digits of your account number, in the signature panel.

The American Express verification code is a 4-digit number printed on the front of your card. It appears above and to the right of the embossed account number.
