I am fundraising to support the American Diabetes Association!
25 years ago, I ran my first marathon, the 1998 Chicago Marathon. This year, I am running to celebrate that silver anniversary and to raise money for the American Diabetes Association.
I joined because today alone over 4,100 people will be diagnosed with diabetes and because more than 30 million adults and children in the United States are living with this terrible disease.
As an orthopaedic foot & ankle surgeon, I see patients every day with diabetes. Many are managing the disease well and living a full life. Far too many patients, however, have complications that affect their quality of life & ability to participate in normal day to day activities. Patients frequently end up in the hospital and some have amputations of their toes, foot, or leg. On a more personal level, I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic last year, so this disease that I have treated so many for, has become a battle that I am fighting myself.
Help Me Reach My Goal!
When you donate:
- You spread awareness of the devastating effects of diabetes.
- You advocate for children discriminated against in school because of diabetes.
- You fund life-saving research.
- You provide access to community programs and free resources that help those living with diabetes
By participating, I hope to inspire others to join me to support the American Diabetes Association and raise money.
Thank you for making a generous donation to this cause that is so important to me and the patients I serve.
