Tour de Cure Day of Event
Before you hop on your bike, important notes prior to September 10th:
  1. Bring a helmet. You must have a helmet to ride.
  2. Make sure you have met the $250 fundraising minimum. If you plan to bring additional donations or make a personal gift the morning of the ride, we will have a credit card system on site and collection envelopes on the information table.
  3. New for 2022! We have a new Tour de Cure Medical & Mechanical Support Service we are using the day of the ride. Should you need it, requesting help on the route will be as easy as scanning a QR code on your wristband or calling the number that will be on your wristband. Note: we encourage you to test the system in advance of Saturday by making sure your location services are on “Always” or “Allowed all the time” for your preferred browser and logging onto the site. After that, you will be ready to go for September 10th.
  4. Weather: We know weather in Colorado can be temperamental, so keep an eye on the weather leading up to ride day. Be sure to bring layers and sunblock. Overcast weather can be deceiving.

Ride with GPS Routes

Please follow all signs and the instructions of your parking directors to ensure everyone’s safety. The event parking entrance and exit will be on Southpark Terrace.

Arrival and Check-In:
There is a $25 registration fee on Tour Day and you must have raised the $250 fundraising minimum to participate in the Tour de Cure. Please enter your donations online or bring credit/check/cash to the day of the event. Pay attention to your arrival time for your chosen route distance. We want to ensure you have enough time before the ride to check-in. When you arrive at the Tour site, you will head to the Registration Tent to check-in, receive your bib and turn in any additional offline donations you have received.

Important Note: There is only Check-In Registration day of event. No early Packet Pick-Up. Please be advised that if you registered online, your emergency waiver form was completed before finalizing your registration. Individuals who register on-site will be required to complete the paper emergency waiver form.

We are excited to announce that RaceCo will be back on site at Tour de Cure this year to offer a streamlined process for check-in. The Registration Tent will be open from 6:00am – 9:30 am on Saturday, and all participant check-in will only occur day of event. Thanks for your understanding and support as we navigate our way out of Covid and back to in-person events.

What will you receive at Tour de Cure Registration Tent?

  • A wristband (with an emergency phone number and QR code)
  • A helmet sticker (with an emergency phone number and QR code)
  • Your 2022 Tour de Cure: Rocky Mountain event t-shirt (must reach $250 fundraising minimum)
  • Red Riders will receive a Red Rider jersey at the Living Red Tent sponsored by Walgreens (must reach $250 fundraising minimum)

Registration Information Table:
At the Registration Information table, you will find safety pins, route maps, and instructions on how to utilize the new QR code for the day of the ride.

Route Maps:
Route maps will be available at the registration area. Please pick up a route map before you ride out.

Directions: Start/Finish is at the headquarters of Lumen Technologies, 700 S. Mineral Ave., Littleton, CO. 80120. Just off of Mineral Ave. and Southpark Terrace

Checklist/What to bring:

The 2022 Tour de Cure: Rocky Mountain is introducing a new medical and mechanical support feature for the safety of our riders, provided by our amazing Ham Operator volunteers. A QR code will be available day of event to scan for all your support needs.

  • Helmet: Helmets must be worn by all cyclists – NO EXCEPTIONS!
  • Your favorite cycling outfit, team jersey, or Tour de Cure shirt
  • Two full water bottles/reservoirs
  • Medical insurance card
  • Medical ID Tag or Bracelet (if applicable)
  • Spare tube, patch kit, and tire tools
  • Favorite energy bar/gel - If there is a particular food that you must have or something you have been eating during training, please bring this with you.
  • Sunscreen, lip balm, sunglasses, bug spray, pain relievers, Vaseline, vitamins, and any medication you are taking. We will have readily available grab-and-go items at the rest stops.
  • Rain gear – we ride rain or shine!
  • Driver’s license
  • Extra cash

Living Red Participants:
A Living Red Participant is a person who lives with diabetes and showcases the courage it takes to live every day with this challenging disease. All riders who have type 1 or type 2 diabetes and have met the $250 fundraising minimum are eligible to receive a Red Rider Jersey (please let us know if at the time of your registration, you did not mark yourself as a Red Rider and we will update our records).

With hundreds of participants who may share a similar story, and hundreds more to support them, Living Red can help with the first step or the millionth – in the fight to live a healthier life!

Champions Tent – We celebrate our top fundraisers in the Champion tent with special recognition. Champions are our riders that have raised $1,000+

Kids Zone – Join us for some family friendly fun in the sun. Bounce house is open for those under 14 and family style games are available for all.

Before and After – When you pick up your rider number and wrist band at check-in, don’t forget breakfast provided by Potbelly's before you ride. Food truck lunch awaits when you return, along with music, fun, our Wellness Expo, and your event participant t-shirts.

Breakfast will be provided by Potbelly’s Sandwich Shop. Lunch will feature local taste of food trucks; Backyard Bowls and the Pig Rig (BBQ and tacos). Each rider and volunteer will receive a wristband that will be your ticket for a meal. Additional food will be available for purchase. Kona Ice will be on site for sale from 12:30-2:00 pm for purchase of yummy snow cones, a portion of their sales will be donated back to the ADA Tour de Cure.

Finish line festivities:
Here are a few things you can expect after your ride:

  • DJ and Live band Tommy’s Shinebox
  • Selfie Station where you can get your day of event photo and team photos taken
  • Kids Fun Zone including backyard games, a balloon artist and bounce house
  • Wellness Village sponsored by Spruce Health Group and ADA Mission information

Along the course:
Route Support: The Motorcycles and SAG Vehicles (Support and Gear) will be offering support to the Tour riders on every route and will be marked with a bright blue, orange and red signs or a bright orange route flag.

If you have stopped along the roadside and need assistance, make sure to flag them down and hold your arm out with your thumb down. They can provide cyclists with roadside assistance and have the capability to call for medical or emergency assistance anywhere along the route.
Very important - If you have stopped and DO NOT need assistance, please give them a 'thumbs up' to prevent them from having to stop when it is not necessary. Minors must be accompanied by an adult in the SAG vehicle.

Bike Route Marshals:
Our official Bike Route Marshals will be wearing “BIKE ROUTE MARSHAL” bibs as they ride the routes to ensure riders are following the “rules of the road.” They are also there to help you if you need anything!
Course Closing: The routes will close at the following times:

There is no support after the close time. Please ensure you have trained to be able to finish your route in time. As late afternoon approaches, one of our SAG vehicles will ask you if you would like to be brought to the finish.

Rest Stops:
There are five (5) rest stops conveniently located at regular intervals along the route. You’ll be able to take a rest, get fruit and/or a snack, sip on an energy drink, and refill your water bottles. Port-o-Potties/Restroom facilities will be available at ALL Rest Stops!
