I’m riding in the 2022 Tour de Cure to stop diabetes! I am riding because the American Diabetes Association's Tour de Cure is so much more than a cycling event to me. It is my opportunity to change the future and make a positive impact in the lives of those who are affected by diabetes.
I’m riding because of the meaningful things that the American Diabetes Association is accomplishing. I’m riding for my students who have lives forever altered due to the impact of diabetes. I’m riding so that children with diabetes can have the opportunity to go to camp every year and be a “normal child” for a week. I’m riding because of research, advocacy and treatment that is allowing children and adults to lead more meaningful, productive and healthy lives. I’m riding because my grandfather, a WWII veteran and my own personal hero, lost his leg due to complications from diabetes. I’m riding because type 2 diabetes runs in my family, and because I, too, am at risk. I’m riding in gratitude for the research and preventive knowledge that has kept me from a type 2 diabetes diagnosis. At least so far. I’m riding because I can, and because I can make a difference. You can make a difference, too!
Your contribution can change the future for more than 34 million people in the United States who have diabetes. Please join me in an effort to stop diabetes!
This year, I am again giving away two of my hand-made quilts! For every $25 you donate through my Tour Page, I'll enter you into a drawing for a quilt. If I reach my $1,000 goal, I'll draw a second name. On the day after the Tour, I will draw names, and joyfully send you your quilt with my sincere gratitude. Quilt pictures to be posted soon!
We CAN make a difference together! Won't you join me?
