With your help we will see the end
of diabetes in my lifetime!
In 2015 there were 24.1 million US citizens living with diabetes. Today that number has reached 32.4 million and it increases by 4,660 each day. I find that frightening for a disease that is not contagious.
By the time Tour de Cure rolls out again I will have been living with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) for 64 of my 66 years, and despite living a life built on hypervigilance and multi-level exercise, diabetes has taken a toll. I've lost 90% of my eyesight, have advancing peripheral and central nerve failure, and recently underwent an amputation.
These are but a few of the complications that come with diabetes, and all complications keep coming and get worse. Despite this I'm riding in Tour de Cure again this year, and would really appreciate your support!
To show how important your donation is, I will match all donations at 50%
until I have given $500 in matching funds!
And to inspire some friendly competition, I'll match the largest total amount given by any one person before September 30th- even if it's given a little at a time- at 100%!
When you donate you make an immediate impact:
- Spreading awareness of the devastating effects of diabetes.
- Advocating for children with diabetes to have the same learning opportunities at school.
- Funding life-saving research that will lead to a cure.
- Providing access to community programs and free resources that help those living with diabetes.
By participating in Tour de Cure, I hope to inspire others to join me in this vital mission. How about you? Just click the Join My Team button above!
Thank you for your efforts toward this cause that is so important to me!
