I am asking you to support me in the Tour de Cure® because finding a cure for diabetes and educating people about this disease means so much to me.

I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes 10 years ago May 1st. I had no idea what a life changing event that would be. Thankfully through fund raising like this there has been some incredible strides in research and technology to make it more manageable. Ten years ago I was weak, tired, and almost went into a coma. Today, I am thriving with a life of activities, and tools that help me manage diabetes. Don't get me wrong, there are still challenges everyday living with this disease, and I know that without proper attention, things can go very bad very quickly. I joined the Tour de Cure 10 years ago and have been inspired every year by the people that support me and the new stories I hear of others living with diabetes. I continue to do this annually because everyday over 4,100 people will be diagnosed and because more than 30 million adults and children in the United States are living with this terrible disease.
