I have survived 60 years with brittle Type 1 Diabetes. The changes in diabetes care and management that have occured during my lifetime are amazing. (I still remember my mother boiling glass syringes every time I had an insulin injection!) I truly believe there will be a cure, or an improvement in management that will allow all diabetics to lead a normal life, some time in the near future. I had the opportunity to obtain a new insulin pump and glucose sensor this year and it has made a huge difference in my glucose control. My dream of improved management is here, but the quest to find a cure still needs a little help. Please consider a donation to give diabetics like me, the hope that we may be able to overcome this difficult disease. Support Me in Tour de Cure!
2023 will mark my 10th year participating in the Tour de Cure. It has always been a great day for me because it's the only day when it feels "OK" to be diabetic. (every other day, it's a challenge and a pain in the ass!!!)
Each year, I have been able to raise over $1,000 thanks to my family and friends. I would like to grow my fundraising efforts and I am asking you to join me in the effort to Stop Diabetes by making a contribution to support my ride.
The dollars we raise for the American Diabetes Association fund research, provide services, and give voice to those denied their rights because of diabetes. I believe in the work they do, and I invite you to join me in this effort. More than 25 million Americans live with diabetes, and your support can and will make a difference in their lives.
Please help by making a donation - large or small - to support the work of the American Diabetes Association. Or, why not join me on the day of the event? Become a participant and side by side, as teammates, we can work together to Stop Diabetes!
Whatever you can give will help! I greatly appreciate your support and will keep you posted on my progress.
Thank you for making a generous contribution to this cause that is so important to me!
