Welcome to Perry's Tour de Cure page!
My goal is to raise $1,500 this year as part of the American Diabetes Association's 2023 "Tour de Cure". I will be riding at least 65 miles again this year in memory of my niece Tiffany who passed away in January 2020 from diabetes complications. Diabetes can wreak havoc in so many different ways that few of us rarely think about. For example, diabetes can cause bones to weaken, be more prone to fractures, and take longer to heal. When Tiffany was 36 years old, a doctor told our family that Tiffany had the bones of an 80-year old. It was a shock to all of us.
The funds we raise together will be used to support innovative scientific discovery that will translate to life-changing treatments and eventual cures that can be used to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. Tiffany was one of over 34 million Americans who suffer from diabetes and it is my hope that future generations can live in a world without this disease. Your donation helps by funding life-saving research and providing access to community programs and free resources that help those living with diabetes.
Together, we can make a difference!
Thank you.
PS I will not be riding in Rochester but will do a 65-mile ride locally some time between May and July (depending on the weather).
