In 2002, I was in a horrible fire and I spent years recuperating from my injuries. This life or death experience gave me the clarity to focus my life on making an impact. I didn't know what cause I wanted to work for until it came looking for me. A couple years after the fire, I was diagnosed with type 1. I had contracted a virus in the hospital that doctors say triggered an auto immune response. I realized then that I was kept alive due to modern day science, technology and the gods who had a different path for me in mind.
This time in my life was filled with depression, anxiety and fear. When I started helping others, all these energies disapeared and I found hope and purpose.
Since then I have dedicated my career to helping people with diabetes.
I found my community with the Tour de Cure and have been loyal since. I invite you to join me in this journey to help others and to make a diference in one of tte most socially relevant causes at the moment.
People with diabetes are ecspecially impacted by COVID-19. 40% of the victims are people with diabetes. If we come together (like herd immunity vaccinating), we can not only beat COVID but also diabetes.
