Diabetes is a major health concern with an estimated 34.2 million Americans who have diabetes. Further an estimated 88 million Americans are pre-diabetic. Every day 4110 Americans are diagnosed with diabetes. If current trends continue 1 in 3 children born in 2000 will become diabetic within their lifetime. Every 21 seconds a person is diagnosed with diabetes in the US. The numbers are STAGGERING!
There is no time to waste, we need to take action NOW to help our families, our friends, our community, our world, to deal with this issue!
This is the 18th time that I will be cycling in the American Diabetes Association's Tour de Cure fund-raising event. The funds raised go to support research, education, advocacy and so much more! I plan on riding at least 3400 miles this year, dedicated to the over 34 million Americans who have diabetes.
