Welcome to my Tour de Cure page!
What a wild ride the last 18 months have been… Yet this annual tradition carries on - at a different time, in a different form and once again we won’t be able to pedal the miles together. However, after more than two decades of riding and raising funds and awareness for the American Diabetes Association, we know, it’s meaning reaches far beyond more than a one day event. The ongoing pandemic may have altered much of our daily life and routines, but it cannot stop this team from continuing to ride!
In June, my brother, my dad and I rode together for the first time in almost two years. As many may know, after this visit, my dad (who because of his health conditions, including diabetes) is high risk for severe Covid, contracted the virus as a breakthrough and was admitted to the ICU in August. Thanks to the incredible care of the ICU team, the scientists who created the vaccine, the amazing support of friends and family and my dad’s unbreakable spirit and grit, he is back home and pedaling in next weekend’s TDC.
This scare makes this year’s ride even more meaningful. While I do wish we could ride together, I’m simply beyond grateful that my dad is back in the saddle and riding at all this year.
So many have supported our ride and our family throughout the years, this year has been no different. We are beyond grateful for ALL of the support, we are incredibly lucky to have such an incredible community so ready and willing to spring into action and helps however they can.
If you are able and feel so inclined, please consider donating to this cause that has been so near and dear to me and my family.
This year Tour de Cure celebrates 30 years of making an impact in communities nationwide and I'm riding to champion the over 34 million Americans living with this terrible disease because they need our support.
Help Me Reach My Goal! When you donate you make an immediate impact:
* You spread awareness of the devastating effects of diabetes.
* You advocate for a child with diabetes to have the same learning opportunities at school.
* You fund life-saving research that will bring us closer to a cure.
* You provide access to community programs and free resources that help those living with diabetes.
By participating in the Tour de Cure, I hope to inspire others to join me in this vital mission.
Thank you for making a generous donation to this cause that is so important to me.
