Welcome to my Tour de Cure page!
The WHO estimates that 422 million people worldwide have diabetes and it claims over 1.5 million lives each year. Finding cures, and tools and interventions to better manage this disease is vitally important.
This year Tour de Cure celebrates 30 years of making an impact in communities nationwide and I’m riding to champion all who live with this terrible disease because they need our support.
I am participating to support family, friends, elders, and relatives who have been battling diabetes in their own indomitable way. I am also participating for my mother, who was diagnosed with diabetes relatively early in life, but has been steadfastly managing it for nearly 30 years. And finally, I walk in memory of my father.
In support of their daily, relentless struggle with this illness, I am pledging to walk/run a 100 miles between September 25 and October 15. (and a possible ride on Oct 10; details being worked out)
I am asking you to support me in the Tour de Cure® as gesture of support and solidarity for all diabetics you know.
Help Me Reach My Goal! When you donate you make an immediate impact:
- You spread awareness of the devastating effects of diabetes.
- You advocate for a child with diabetes to have the same learning opportunities at school.
- You fund life-saving research that will bring us closer to a cure.
- You provide access to community programs and free resources that help those living with diabetes.
By participating in the Tour de Cure, I hope to inspire others to join me in this vital mission.
Thank you for making a generous donation to this cause. I'm grateful for your support!
