Welcome to my Tour de Cure page!
I am asking you to support me in the Tour de Cure® because finding a cure for diabetes is urgent and means a lot to me.
There are 34 million people living with diabetes in the US. I am riding for 3 of them.
One is my dad. He was recently diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. He is in relatively good health, and we would really like to keep it that way!
Another is my brother. He was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in 1978. When I think back on diabetes treatment in the 1970s and 1980s relative to what’s possible today, it is truly remarkable.
Then there is my daughter, Madeleine. She was diagnosed with T1D in 2010. She inspires me every day, and she is the driving force behind my goal. You see, Madeleine is climbing Mt Whitney with a group of teenagers with diabetes, and if she can climb to an elevation of 14,500 feet, then surely I can raise $14,500 for ADA.
Where does the money go?
- You spread awareness of the effects of diabetes.
- You advocate for a child with diabetes to have the same learning opportunities at school.
- You fund life-saving research that will bring us closer to a cure.
- You provide access to community programs & resources that help those living with diabetes.
By participating in the Tour de Cure, I hope to inspire others to join me in this vital mission.
Thank you for making a generous donation.
