Join Robert and me at our Tour de Cure 2023 on Sunday, October 1!
2023 will mark my 50th year of fundraising for the American Diabetes Association ... and my 32nd year riding in the Tour de Cure!
In honor of this milestone, I am pleased to say that we have formed a team of 25 people! And we are close to earning our own team tent the day of the ride.
So, I still need your help. Every dollar gets us closer to our goal ... and helps to find a cure for this terrible disease of diabetes.
The history: Diabetes is rampant in my family: my mom, my dad, my dad's family, my sisters and I all have diabetes. Until my sister, Judy, died in 2019, I walked or rode in her honor ... our team, Judy's Precious Pals, is even named after her (she was an ardent collector of Precious Moments.)
Judy lived with diabetes since she was a child; she died of complications from the very procedure that qualified her to receive a kidney transplant. We miss her terribly. Judy lived a remarkable and courageous life. In 2015, her leg was amputated as a complication of her lifelong diabetes. We were so proud of how well she did with her prosthetic leg, “Miss Peggy,” walking and driving her car on her own!!
Judy’s life experience has underscored the devastation wrought by this terrible disease and the importance of raising the funds to fight it. My personal fundraising goal this year is $5,000 and my team goal is $12,500. So, even if you choose not to ride with me, please consider making a donation ... and encouraging others to do so, as well.
Will you help me achieve -- or exceed -- this goal?
JOIN ME! And thank you for your generosity to this cause that is so important to me and those I love!
Love, Rosemarie
