Hello All,
The 2023 Tour de Cure will be virtual again this year and the Capital Area American Diabetes Society has advised that they are supporting the National Tour which is scheduled virtually on September 23, 2023.
This will be my eighth ride in the Tour de Cure. In my first seven rides, we raised a total of $12,862! All because of your great support for a good cause.
I also signed up for the Tour de Frederick on June 10, again and Pat and I hope to both ride again in the Skipjack Bike Tour on the Eastern Shore of Maryland on September 9th.
This cause is important to me because my wife's late brother Bill suffered severely from type 1 diabetes, and I know several people (seems like more each year) who have diabetes. I would like to see a cure for this disease someday soon. This year, this disease is hitting closer to home. Our son, Mike, was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes last year. With medication and diet, he has managed to get his A1C down to normal levels.
I plan to have some fun, get some exercise, and raise some money for a good cause. If you are interested, I welcome your support. I am sure that you are getting hit up for contributions for a lot of very good causes. If I am hitting you too hard to support the Tour de Cure, I understand completely. I would like to hear from you regardless, to let me know how you’re doing.

Pat and I are doing well.
Our grandson, Cooper Glenn Orlando turned two on January 26, and he is doing great. Our grandson, Jameson, will turn 6 on June 10. It’s amazing how fast these two seem to be growing.
Chester, and Comet, our cats are doing well and have been keeping busy with their wrestling matches, naps, and following us around. They are a lot of fun.
I haven’t been playing the drums too much. My lessons are on hold so my teacher can pursue another career as a financial advisor, and my band has not been able to get together for some time. We are pretty spread out. Some health issues and the price of gas have made it prohibitive for some of us to travel for jam sessions.
I’m off to a good start this year due to our mild winter. Weather permitting, I’ll be getting out as often as I can. I have ridden over 840 miles already this year.
I hope you are doing well and thank you for your continued support.
All the best,
Jim
