Thank you for visiting my page. I have loved ones, friends, family that are all affected and afflicted by diabetes. With every passing day and every donation they get closer to a life without diabetes. I know that I can accomplish a lot when I am determined, but I can accomplish an incredible amount when I am surrounded by supporters like you. You that cheer me on, that ride with me, that donate to the ADA, that care enough to try. I'm excited to be a part of this fundraiser and I'd be lying if I did not admit that I have a blast participating every year. BUT I never forget the reason why or that so many of you help me along the way.
So again, thank you for all of your support and to one day finding a cure.
All of the information below is important, but more personally Why I am committed to this cause is this:
I have lost a friend to diabetes, I have lost an uncle to diabetes. I have lost a stepdad to diabetes. The mother of my son was diagnosed with diabetes. I have team members, Red Riders, that fight diabetes everyday. Everyday the ADA gets closer to a cure and if I can help them by riding a bike and raising funds, then it is the least I can do. I'll probably only personally know .00017% of the 29 million here in the US that have diabetes but it sure would be nice if every one of them, every day didn't have to worry about their sugar levels.
I am riding because the American Diabetes Association's Tour de Cure is so much more than a cycling event to me. It is my opportunity to change the future and make a positive impact in the lives of those who are affected by diabetes.
I am committed to ride and raise money in this inspirational event not because 29 million people in the United States have diabetes, but because I personally know some of them, and I want to do something about it. Won’t you help me start a chain reaction?
Chances are, you also know someone who has been affected by diabetes and you already know how important it is to stop this disease. By making a donation on my behalf or by joining my team, you will be helping the Association provide community-based education programs, protect the rights of people with diabetes and fund critical research for a cure.
With your help, we will fight for a future where a parent does not have to hear that their child has diabetes. A future where an adult does not have to face the uncertain times ahead after receiving a diabetes diagnosis. A future where you and I will know that we had a part in making this possible.
I truly appreciate your support. Together we can Stop Diabetes!
