The American Diabetes Association is known for blazing trails in research, advocacy and education in support of the over 37.3 million people in the United States with diabetes.

All of this work is costly. Members of our team will all attempt to exceed Champion fundraising status to support these efforts.

We are also taking on the challenge of "going the extra mile" to convince our family, friends and neighbors to "go the extra mile" when making their donations!

We will meet in late August or early September at one of Indiana's beautiful rail trails to complete an "extra miles" hike. Our self-supported hike will include the option of a full marathon (26 miles), half-marathon (13 miles),  or 10K (6 miles). Those not able to join us for this trailblazing event can participate virtually. 

On September 16 some of our team will take a "victory lap" with all the other walkers at Grand Park while others will provide support as volunteers. 

NOTE: Your team captain can provide you with a 12-week training schedule to prepare you to walk a marathon by the time of our "extra miles" hike. The schedule assumes you can complete a 5 mile walk at  18 min per mile during the first week of training and builds gradually to marathon distance by the end of week 12.
