Welcome to my Step Out page!
As you may or may not know, when my mom had her stomach cancer removed years ago, shortly founded out that the shock to her system triggered Type 2 Diabetes. The last couple of years, it's really taken a toll on her and last December she was rushed to the hospital because of her diabetes. It was horrible to see her drive away in an ambulance and I couldn't do anything, I felt helpless. At that moment, I vowed that once she was back on her feet, I was going to do everything I can to learn, support and help my mom. I was going to change the direction of my mom’s health and so many other family and friends in my life that have been silently battling this disease. So, I did.
I went to work for the American Diabetes Association. I figured, might as well be as close to the cure as I could be and make an impact with a disease that often isn't talked about often. I made a committment to brign awareness, while helping as many people as I could.
On September 17th, our team we will walk in honor of my Mom (Olga Salerno), Uncle Frank Romagnino, Grandma Lydia Sanchez, Aunt Jeannie Sellitto, Juan Carlos Grande (Haydee's brother) and list will continue as we grow our team.
I am asking you to support me in the Step Out Walk to Stop Diabetes® event because finding a cure for diabetes is urgent and means so much to me personally.
