Living with diabetes is a long-distance lifetime challenge!
We must all go "the extra mile" to help the American Diabetes Association continue to provide education, advocacy and research in support of all with diabetes. Last year I completed a 28 mile hike on our local trails a week before the event so I would be free to volunteer on the day of the event. My hike was peaceful and beautiful in contrast to the wonderful energy and excitement on the day of the event. There were so many smiles as families and friends completed their miles in support of loved ones with diabetes.
This year I have formed to team to invite others who would like to challenge themselves to go the extra mile, with a trail hike the weekend before the event and a victory lap or volunteer service on the day of the event.
We will also take on the challenge of raising at least $1000 each in support of the mission of the ADA.
I would love to have you join my team (use the link above), but if you're not able, a donation would be most appreciated.
When you donate:
You spread awareness of the devastating effects of diabetes.
You advocate for a child discriminated against in school because of diabetes.
You fund life-saving research.
You provide access to community programs and free resources that help those living with diabetes
