In 2021, I will once again be riding in support of the American Diabetes Association and their "Step Out: Walk (Ride) To Stop Diabetes." It's an annual event where bicyclists from all over the region come together to help raise money to fight diabetes. This year's event will be a Virtual ride, which means I won't be riding in Indianapolis. However, I will be doing my ride locally, because the American Diabetes Association's Step Out event is so much more than a cycling event to me. It is my opportunity to change the future and make a positive impact in the lives of those who are affected by diabetes.
I have participated in this event the past six years, and personally have rasied over $11,000 for the American Diabetes Association. In 2021, I will once again participate in this charity ride and raise even more money to help those with diabetes, including members of my own family, and the friends that I have been made aware of in recent years that are also affected by this disease.
I am committed to ride and raise money in this inspirational event not because millions of people in the United States have diabetes, but because I have have recently lost my brother, Stuart to diabetic complications. There are many other family members and friends who live with this disease, and I want to do something about it. Won’t you help me start a chain reaction?
Chances are, you also know someone who has been affected by diabetes and you already know how important it is to stop this disease. By making a donation on my behalf, you will be helping the Association provide community-based education programs, protect the rights of people with diabetes and fund critical research for a cure.
With your help, we will fight for a future where a parent does not have to hear that their child has diabetes. A future where an adult does not have to face the uncertain times ahead after receiving a diabetes diagnosis. A future where you and I will know that we had a part in making this possible.
I truly appreciate your support. Together we can Stop Diabetes!
