I started participating in these walks for my dad, David Waite. He was a diabetic. Sadly, he passed away from chronic kidney disease, which was a complication of his diabetes. My dad suffered severely in his last days. I walk for him, my family, and every person affected by this terrible disease.
In my family, nearly 10 of my relatives have been diagnosed with diabetes.
