I am fundraising to support the American Diabetes Association!
I've lived with T1D since 1996, diagnosed at 12 years old. Growing up with T1D has had a dramatic influence on my life, and while it's been a challenge it's shaped me into the person I am today. Sort of like a marathon, it's a meaningful commitment to a goal, which is really about the day-to-day work. Put in the work!
Throughout my journey, I've learned a few lessons (some the hard way) about how to be successful in managing my disease. Not surprisingly, I've found that physical activity is a huge factor in both controlling my diabetes and feeling great! I always promote physical activity as a key to my success over the last 27 years with T1D. I've run multiple half-marathons and one full and this year, I'm turning 40 - so it's time to celebrate with a successful 26.2 miles!
I want to show my community, my kids, and my family, that having diabetes isn't a roadblock. It's the hard work we put in everyday, that helps us achieve our goals!
Please help me reach my fundraising goal for the 2023 Chicago Marathon!
When you donate:
- You spread awareness of the devastating effects of diabetes.
- You advocate for children discriminated against in school because of diabetes.
- You fund life-saving research.
- You provide access to community programs and free resources that help those living with diabetes
By participating, I hope to inspire others to join me to support the American Diabetes Association and raise money.
Thank you for making a generous donation to this cause that is so important to me.
