Welcome to Team Riley!

October 23, 2020 will be our 3rd Diaversary.  We would like to celebrate by raising money for American Diabetes Association.  ADA provides so much support for a family like ours.  One of the major impacts ADA has had on our life is the summer camp they offer annually.  At camp, Riley is around other children her age with Type 1 Diabetes.  She is allowed to be independent and given a feeling of normalcy within her condition limits.  They provide campers with skills to manage diabetes successfully, as well as, additional diabetes supplies.   Every year we have attended, we have been touched by their generosity and caring, inclusive attitudes.   

ADA also advocates for diabetic rights.   Like lowering insulin costs and other diabetic needs/supports.  We need organizations like ADA to fight for Riley, especially when she becomes an adult and can no longer be on our insurance.  So, if you can, join our team!  We are virtually walking, running, biking to raise funds for ADA in honor of Riley conquering 3 years with this disease.  Our family will be participating in a "race" on the streets of our town the weekend of October 23rd.  We will each determine our own distances and celebrate our success as we cross the finish line. 

ADA has suggested multiple ways to celebrate a diaversary from running, walking, biking to not talking for an hour for every donation accepted.  Donations are also not required to celebrate....we wish for everyone to be a part of our special day.  No matter how you decide to share in our celebration, please share with us via photos, Marco Polos and text messages.

Our team is supporting the American Diabetes Association because we want to make a difference.  We want to lead.  We want to inspire.  We want to empower. We want a cure! 

We are teaming up now to change the future and make a positive impact in the lives of those who are affected by diabetes. We are committed to participate together and raise money through this inspirational event not just because over 30 million people in the United States have diabetes, but because so many of us personally know some of them, and want to do something about it.

By making a donation or joining our team, you will be helping the Association provide community-based education programs, protect the rights of people with diabetes and fund critical research for a cure.

When we bring together dedicated team members and generous donors, the power we have as a group far outweighs what any of us could do alone.
