I've been playing video games since I was 3 years old when my parents first bought me a NES. My Dad would take me to Blockbuster every Friday after school to rent a video game and I'd spend all weekend trying to beat it. Video games have been my hobby since I could hold a controller. Years later, I went to school for computer science and ended up getting a job programming video games while I was in college. Shortly after getting my first job in the game industry I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. I had always taken care of myself, had a healthy diet and was physically fit so the diagnosis came as a shock to everyone. My Mom cried, I got angry and other people couldn't believe how I got diabetes. It's been tough, but I decided that I'd control diabetes rather than it controlling me. Checking my glucose levels three times a day, limiting my carbohydrates, exercising everyday, and almost never eating sugar has helped me keep my A1C below 5.9.

Since my diagnosis, I've been donating to the ADA, running 5k's for diabetes awareness, etc..., but recently I had the idea to combine my passion of video games with my disease to try and raise money for charity. So, I've decided to do two 12 hour Twitch stream of various video games in the hope of raising money for this disease. By participating in Team Diabetes, I hope to inspire others to join me in raising money for an organization whose mission is to prevent and cure diabetes, and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.
