Help Make Insulin Affordability a Priority in California

The American Diabetes Association® (ADA) is pushing to make sure legislation capping insulin co-pays is heard in the California Assembly Health Committee when the legislature reconvenes in May. This lifesaving legislation would cap co-pays at $50 per prescription and no more than $100 monthly. We need your voice to make sure the Committee understands the importance of this legislation—using the form below!

Dear [Decision Maker],

During this unprecedented health crisis, I urge you to help people with diabetes by supporting Assembly Bill 2203 (Nazarian) when the bill is heard in the Assembly Health Committee on May 18.

AB 2203 would cap copayments on insulin at $50 per prescription and no more than $100 monthly in DMHC regulated plans. The price of insulin has skyrocketed with the price tripling between 2002 and 2013. Nearly 1 in 4 people with diabetes in the United States have reported the price of insulin has impacted them negatively.

It's time for California to take action to stop the rising prices of insulin and make this life-saving medication affordable. I urge you to vote aye on AB 2203 and make sure this important legislation passes the Assembly Health Committee on May 18.
