Tell your senator to oppose SB 48, which allows short-term limited duration (STLD) plans. STLD plans are not considered individual health insurance and therefore are not required to provide the same protections and essential health benefits (such as prescription drugs, preventative care and maternity care).
Stories always make a better case than statistics, and personalized emails will always have an even greater impact than form e-mails. Personalizing your letter is extremely important!
Dear [Decision Maker],
As someone with a personal connection to diabetes, I know that short-term, limited duration (STLD) health insurance plans offer only the illusion of coverage because they can deny coverage to people with pre-existing conditions, do not require coverage for essential health benefits such as coverage of prescription drugs, emergency services, and hospitalization.
